Who didn't love Lucy? This Amazon Prime movie about a specific time period in Lucy and Desi's life and fame sheds light on what it was like behind the scenes of the biggest show in the world and the characters that had to live in that reality. Can you imagine, they had 60 million viewers weekly!
In this show Lucy and Desi are played amazingly by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem and the story written by the incredible Aaron Sorkin. The Ricardos does a wonderful job of mixing behind the scenes of many famous shows we all remember with cast and production conflicts as well as issues with the media and various crisis. Lucille is pregnant in real life, what do we do? Lucille is called a communist, is it true? Desi is jealous of Lucy's fame and Lucy wants a regular home life. All of these storylines are written so well and are extremely interesting to see how they were handled in the old school US.
Another part of this show that is really enjoyable are the moments in the writing room with the writers, directors and producers. Also, the supporting cast and decisions about storylines are really fascinating since we all know how many of them end up.
