Netflix’s stab at blind dating became an instant hit. The concept starts with couples building relationships solely on conversations behind closed doors. Asking the question, “Is Love Blind?”
Love is Blind combines all of the best features from our favorite reality shows. Strangers can only talk to their potential matches from behind a wall, relying only on the power of conversation to build a bond. Once the couple has decided they’re ready to propose, yes PROPOSE! they are allowed to see each other. From there, the engaged couples hop on a plane for their“pre-wedding honeymoon” to determine if their emotional connection can fit in the outside world. After the honeymoon bliss, the couples then move in together as the final test of love vs. the real world. The last episode ends with the couples determining whether or not they want to be legally married, or cut ties.I’m exhausted just from thinking about these whirlwind romances. Of course, there are tender moments, tears, fights, and second-guessing.
If you’re looking for some mindless dating and romance entertainment, Love is Blind is it. The contestants form some amazing one-liners, plenty of wine, and surprisingly some long lasting connections.Netflix seems to have made the perfect dating show formula, as they’re already casting for next season!
