A mentally unstable veteran works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action by attempting to liberate a presidential campaign worker and an underage prostitute.

A movie that I watched recently was Taxi Driver. It's not a new movie but I finally watched it. I know, it's crazy, I hadn't seen it yet, right? Isn't that weird. When it comes to classic films like this one, I don't really feel so rushed to to get to them right away. If I saw every great classic movie all at once, then I'd have none left to discover.

Watching this film for the first time was a truly special experience. It is no surprise at all why this film is held in such high regard. The music is absolutely fantastic. It's incredibly well shot and atmospheric. Robert De Niro's performance is amazing. To be honest, I don't think I've seen him act any better than in this film. It's very well written and serves as an interesting and disturbing character study and Robert De Niro brings so much detail to the performance of this character. This is a truly awesome movie, so go see it if you haven't already, even though it is like 50 years old.
