Comedy is not all about laughs. In this Showtime limited series you get to learn all about the famous Comedy Store that has launched just about every single major comedian that we know of from film, TV and more. With its 47 year history The Comedy Store has so many stories of how it all started for many of our favorite comics but also the sadness and struggles that come with this job too.

Pryor, Murphy, Carey, Williams, Rock, Seinfeld, Leno, Letterman and on and on and on The Comedy Store made all of these great comics earn their way into celebrity status. At The Comedy Store you had to work your way from the bottom to the main stage. For a long time the comedians didn't even get paid, they did to be found. Success in the 70's and 80's at the Store lead to appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, TV pilots, movies and more. If you got your chance at the Comedy Store anything is possible.

Owned and operated by Mitzi Shore (mom to Pauly Shore) Mitzi was the mother to all the comedians and most of the time provided tough love and criticism that most of the comedians look back and truly appreciate. This documentary has one interview after another with all the best comedians in the world telling their stories and perspectives of life at the "Store".

If you love comedy and comedians and want to know more about how so many of the worlds funniest and most famous stars got their start, this is the show for you.
