The Office

The Office will most definitely go down in the Hall of Fame, maybe even Mt. Rushmore of TV comedies ever made. Based off of Rickey Gervais British version of the same name this show added it's own US twist and what we got was pure gold. They call a show like this a "Mockumentary", a fake documentary where the characters constantly talk to and look at the camera. The list of actors on this when it started was for the most part a group of unknown people. Now, they are all HUGE in film, TV, stand up, directing, writing, and much more. It's incredible.

The show is centered around a paper sales business called Dunder Mifflin based in Scranton, PA. The office is filled with all the classic office people, the crazy boss, the likable front desk girl, the cool prankster, the geeky guy with very strange social behavior, the annoying girl, the cat woman, the accounting department, HR, funny meetings in the conference room, lunch hour banter and so much more.

The Office put together 9 seasons of total gold. You can watch any episode and love it. There are some story arks but the humor and madness of each episode makes it easy to watch any of them. Look at this cast, it's just unbelievable when you look back now: Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, James Spader (later on), Craig Robinson, Ellie Kemper, and on and on. Plus the special guests were great too.

This show is a no brainer if you have never seen it and you are looking for something easy and funny to watch. I know most have seen it but a show like this has to be on this site. I can hear that opening song as I type this.
