Cobra Kai

If you loved the Karate Kid series in the 80's you will love this follow up show too. The new show Cobra Kai takes place 34 years since Danielson dropped Johnny in the All Valley Karate Tournament with Mr. Miyogi on his side and Ali with an I screaming for him. Now we get a new perspective on this classic from the point of view of Johnny; a much older and run down Johnny.

Cobra Kai for many probably seems ridiculous, in the sense that it's impossible to try and bring back Daniel, Johnny and the old story again but that is not what this show does. The writers and creators of Cobra Kai actual found a way for us to see that in many ways Johnny was not the bad guy we always thought. If you think about it, he had to deal with this guy that comes in out of nowhere, tries to steal his girlfriend, picks a fight with him on the beach, pours water all over him at the dance and more. If you really think about it, what did Johnny do first? Maybe Daniel was the antagonist?

The other fun component to the new show is the insertion of Daniel's daughter, Johnny's son and a really fun cast of kids. Of course some are Cobra Kai and others are Miyagigo Karate. The rivalry continues and it's done in a fun way too. The two enemies from time to time reminisce, have fun together and it really changes your entire perspective.

I would totally recommend this to anyone that loved the Karate Kid. It is totally worth the watch.
