This HBO series is as captivating and thrilling as it is real. The series follows high school student Rue(Zendaya) as she deals with adolescents and learns about her sexuality all while battling a drug addiction. I fell in love with the deeply layered characters. For the most part I ended up rooting for every one of them. They all make mistakes, but you end up less like an observer judging them and more like a friend pulling for them to go where you know they can. I loved that they made a chaotic enough plot that still managed to stay unsettling real.

The series was also visually beautiful. Overall if your a fan of the genre then this is one you can't miss.
