Same guys, same problems, new level, but just as fun.
Jumanji: The Next Level was just as fun as I wanted it to be. I loved the previous one and the original with Robin Williams. However my biggest fear going into this film was that I didn't think they would do anything differently and the film would become stale. I didn't have fate that there was enough left to explore to have a full film, and after watching it I was kinda right. This film was more of the same from the previous one, but it's just as fun.
If you enjoyed the last one you'll enjoy this one. It's just as entertaining, energetic, and hilarious. The film managed to kinda explore the same thing, but make it feel so fresh.
It follows Spencer as he once again gets trapped in Jumanji, but this time around it's evolved to a higher difficulty. The rest of the gang plus a few additions join up any try to rescue him.
The acting was great. The Rock's as charismatic as ever, Kevin Hart's hilarious, Jack Black's just as funny, and Karen Gillan proves to be really good at comedy. Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, and Aquafina were also really good additions.
Jumanji: The Next Level proves you can catch lightning in a bottle twice by simply putting it in the same place. The film knew what it was and didn't try to be anything else. It's hilarious, there's some great action, and there's enough story and character to make you watch until the end. Overall the film was irresistibly watchable and entertaining.
