Love

I had never heard of this show before.  One day I found myself scrolling through Twitter and I saw a tweet from Judd Apatow saying that if you have a lot of free time it’s a great opportunity to catch up on all three seasons of Love. I watched the trailer and thought it seemed light and fun to watch.  Well, I just finished it in less than a week and it was great.  It’s a funny story about a nerdy guy named Gus from South Dakota who is living the LA life.  He’s trying to make it inHollywood as a writer but at the moment is a tutor for a child star on a Blevel TV drama.  Gus is lonely and living in an apartment complex filled with people that are trying to make in LA too.  Enter Mickey, a beautiful girl, played by Gillian Jacobs.  Mickey works at a Podcast company but clearly has many issues.  Alcohol, drugs, sex and a real attitude all fill her personality but somehow, she is also super cool and the fun girl you want to hang out with and see at any party you are at.  This show does a great job of mixing typical romantic comedy styling with some serious topics as well.  Also, Love mixes in comedians from so many different movies and tv shows you can’t help but recognize so many people.  They are the roommates, friends and coworkers in this show that really take it over the top. Overall Love is a light, quick watch show that gives you a real taste of the grind of living in the LA, Hollywood world trying to find your way and maybe find love too.
