I just finished watching this series and I was really happy with how it went. It’s so interesting how the writers are blending the true stories of Felix Gallardo with voice over and video clips of the actual people from this time in Mexico City. The cocaine business and all aspects from growing, delivery, selling and crossing the border to the US are fascinating. I have to say that I really loved the first series of Narcos with Pablo Escobar and the rest of the Columbian cocaine story and history. I couldn’t wait to watch ever episode. At first, I was reluctant to watch this new version of Narcos but it totally delivered. Season 1 and Season 2 truly linked the story from a local policeman to a cocaine kingpin. Yet another great show that makes the villain a hero in a way that you find yourself rooting for no matter how bad they really are.
Season 2 also gave some very interesting perspectives from the political side of this as well. The corruption and relationships between the drug cartels and the leaders of the government are so crazy to conceive yet I am sure pretty accurate. One really fun part of the show was when Felix was showing the underground polling that goes on and the manipulations of those polls and how it effects the people’s decisions.
All in all, I would say if you loved the original Narcos series you will not be disappointed. If you never watched the original, get on that now! After that enjoy Mexico City too, great work!
