Sons of Anarchy

One of the greatest shows ever made that nobody talks about.  In one sentence that’s how I would describe this show.  I have no idea why this show isn’t on everyone’s list like so many other great ones of it’s time (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc. etc.).  Sons of Anarchy was written and created by Kurt Sutter who before SOA was mainly known for his writing on the Shield (another awesome show that deserves more credit).

Kurt’s writing has a definite unique style that mixes hardcore guns, violence, toughness (usually both police and bad guys), various cultures or backgrounds, with humor, romance and heart-breaking moments that leave you speechless.  I cannot tell you how many times at the end of an SOA episode (which is always insanely powerful) that I would find myself sitting there in silence on the couch, jaw dropped and the credits rolling.  I am not ashamed to admit once or twice (maybe more) a few tears too.  These shows were so powerful in the last two seasons that I couldn’t wait for the after show to hear more and learn more about it.

No brainer, if you haven’t see Sons and you are looking for a great drama with sex, violence, humor and real deep storylines this is the show to watch.
