They did it again. After the surprisingly good Titans, and the hilariously heartfelt Doom Patrol DC comes back with another great series in Swamp Thing.

This series was excellent, at times gruesome, unique, horrifying and thrilling. Swamp Thing has always been an outlier compared to other DC characters, but if anything can put him in the limelight it's this series.

This is a uniquely dark series like no other I have seen. Produced by James Wan (Saw, Conjuring, Insidious), who I believe is one of the best horror directors working today. This series is a bone crawling horror gem. We follow Abby Arcane who returns to Louisiana to investigate an epidemic, but soon discovers  the swamp holds more than just secrets.

This series stays true to the past two as it has a great central story and characters. I really liked Abby and her relationship with the town and of course Swamp Thing was awesome, but where it really takes off is with the horror.

It's filmed so well. It's very dark yet beautiful, and the creature effects were awesome. This is a series that can go toe to toe with any other horror film or show, and it has action to match. With enough limbs and body parts to fill anyone's appetite.

Overall Swamp Thing was a breath of fresh air, or swamp air. The series was one of the few I've seen that could mix the grounded tone of a monster flick with the imagination and amazement of a comic book story. In the end Swamp Thing was a terrifyingly entertaining series that proves that not all heroes wear capes...or clothes.
