Horrific, terrifying, disgusting, gory, disturbing, and...absolutely amazing.
American Horror Story is a gem of a series. It's like a diamond in the rough. There aren't many great horror series out, so this is by far one of the best yet it's so unconventional. No spoilers but they deliberately throw awful characters at you, but you're forced to root for them because the situation is just that much worse. There are also these overarching themes that actually have a lot to say.
It's an anthology series centering on different horrifying stories for each season. This is what I love most about the series as a whole, because every season is completely different from the last. You are guaranteed a whole new experience, and because each season is so different I have to speak in general terms.
You can expect the story to be pretty non stop with what it's trying to achieve. You can expect blood, a lot of unsavory words, sex, and some really dark stuff. Also the acting is fantastic. There's a new cast every season, but a few recurring actors are Evan Peters who gives a truly mesmerizing performance in Cult, Sara Paulson, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, and Emma Roberts, who are all absolutely outstanding.
This is a series that's extremely hard to talk about, but American Horror Story is such an unnerving and surreal experience where you're in store for something completely different and made by people that are extremely passionate. If you're looking for something different then this is the show for you.
