The moment I saw the first billboard for this show I knew it was for me. As a child of the 80's this show hits everything that my family and everyone I know did during that time period. The show is written and created by Adam Goldberg and tells a version of his life as a kid growing up in the suburbs of the 1980's. Each show takes place at "some time in the 80's" which gives them creative freedom to touch any and every possible 80's fade and story you can think of.
The Goldberg family is a blast two watch. Jeff Garlin as the grumpy yet lovable dad and Wendi McLendon-Covney as the crazy mom are amazing. The mom is unstoppable in her love for her kids and family. There is nothing that will embarrass her or make her hesitate when it comes to getting what she wants for her family. The grandpa is played by legendary George Segal. The children and most other characters are not all that well known, or at least in 2013 they weren't.
I really enjoy this show, it's a light quick half hour that gives you 80's nostalgia mixed with family craziness and always a happy finish. The songs, the clothes, cars, houses, things in the houses, the schools, the t-shirts, movie references, tv show references, music and all else take me back to a great decade. My kids also love this show too; so it's a total family show. That's kind of 80's too.
