Bad Boys For Life

Bad Boys For Life...cue the round of applause because they pulled it off. People say only a select few things ever get better with age. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is you can now add this film to it. Seventeen years later and this might be the best one yet.

I think the biggest surprise was how mature this film was. It follows a near retirement Mike Lowry and Marcus, but before they can hang up their badges they are hunted down by an unknown assailant and forced on one last ride.

This is definitely the best story so far in the franchise, and it went places I didn't think it could go. At times it actually got really dark, and I'm glad they pushed themselves past their limit.

But what you came here for was the comedy, and don't worry because it's great. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are both hilarious, and their chemistry has gotten even better. This might be the funniest one.

The action was also really good. They did replace some action with character moments and story, but don't worry because there's still more than enough explosions, shootouts, and high speed chases.

Overall Bad Boys For Life was a refreshing dive back into fun action, but with a more mature take on it, the film ended up being a surprisingly great one. I just hope it doesn't take another two decades to make the next one.
