Royal Pains

Royal Pains is a quality show that combines a number of categories that most TV watchers truly enjoy. Beautiful scenery of the Hamptons on the East End of Long Island, NY; medical drama that allows for mystery and wondering how things will end; romantic situations; and a lead actor that plays the concierge doctor with a knack for solving medical issues with a McGyver like skill set.

It's possible that Royal Pains doesn't get the same recognition simply because it was on cable channel USA Network instead of one of the Big Four, or possibly an HBO, Showtime, Netflix or others with larger audiences and on demand viewing. However, just because it had lower numbers of total viewers that does not take away from the quality of the show.

Written and Created by Andrew Lenchewski, a Long Island guy himself, this show has strong storylines and entertaining characters. The actors are also top quality too. Mark Feurerstein, Paulo Costanzo, Henry Winkler (as the dad) and many more repeat characters and plenty of cameo actors too. The key with this cast is the chemistry. They really seem to get along and are so believable in their roles. The comedic timing is on point and they can all handle serious, tense scenes well too.
