De Niro, Pesci, Pacino and of course Scorsese. The Irishman tells the story of Frank Sheeran who was a connected guy that worked as the right hand many for Jimmy Hoffa (played by Pacino). This movie is a combination of fiction and non-fiction all in one. As told by Robert De Niro's character Frank.
The story of Hoffa has been told many times but this movies brings it to us in an all new level. In my opinion what makes a movie like this so great are the scenes. Overall this is a long 3 hour movie, but when you break it down into the many great scenes it's an amazing movie. De Niro and Pesci as always deliver and what's cool about this movie is that Pesci outranks De Niro which you don't usually see. The De Niro and Pacino scenes are also so special as are the Pesci and Pacino scenes.
The mix of the Italian mob with the unions and Hoffa are incredibly interesting. Pacino's Hoffa seems so real and understandable. His hunger for power and unwillingness to ever give in to advice from others becomes his downfall.
If you are a Scorsese fan as well as a fan of these other actors and the mob related movies they have been a part of this movie is a total MUST WATCH. If over 3 hours is too long, watch in two parts and savor every minute.
