One of those classic one-hour family dramas with a strong ensemble lead by non-other than Tom Selleck, Magnum PI or maybe now better known as Monica’s older boyfriend on Friends. A police drama with both action and deep storylines.
This show has been going strong for 10 seasons and over 200 episodes. Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou as Grandpa and many others that at the start were unknowns but are now well known and fun to watch on this show.
Blue Bloods is based around a family that has been police officers in the NYPD for generations. The grandfather is a former PC, or Police Commissioner and now the father (played by Selleck) is the current PC and well respected or feared by all. His two sons are on the force, one in the field and another is a detective (Wahlberg). Finally, the daughter, (played by Monahan) is a NYC Assistant District attorney.
This mix of all aspects of the NYPD from the top position into the world of detectives, the insight to the police on the streets and then all brought together by the law make for quality tv. The PC is so believable and the acting and the stories they tell make it a must watch every week. You can really watch any episode in any order and still enjoy it, I would recommend going in order :) They close out each show with a “Sunday Dinner” scene that always puts the cherry on top of an episode. You can’t go wrong watching this show whenever it’s on.
