Ferraris, GT40s, and charisma. This film was a joyride.

Ford v Ferrari was amazing. This film was surprising in so many different ways. For starters it's entertaining. A lot of biopics fall into the trap of being dreadfully boring, but this film was fast paced and it went through the story like a breeze. It's also oozing with a fun summertime feel. Everything's very bright and shiny, and there's a ton of color and life. It's a film filled with energy.

It follows car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles as they battle corporate interference and the laws of physics to build a revolutionary car for Ford in order to defeat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

The story of these two guys was incredible. You follow two normal people who are just trying to do what they love. Their characters are that of dedication and passion, and you can't help but to root for them.

One thing I really loved was how the corporate side of things was shown. It wasn't your usual fat guy who wants money, money, and more money. It was an actual character that had understandable reasons for doing what he does. It becomes the main pair trying to overcome an obstacle rather than defeating a bad guy, and I thought it brought out a lot more emotion.

The acting was terrific. Christian Bale is one of the best to ever do it, and he proves here once again why he's a legend. He completely fades into the character to the point where you forget it's him, and Matt Damon is just as good.

The ending was also amazing. It was exhilarating, and James Mangold's directing was beautiful. In the end you're left with a story of perseverance, triumph, and defeat. Ford v Ferrari was a thrill ride.
